Example – 3. Draw a less than cumulative frequency curve (ogive) for the following data:

Solution :- At first the less than cumulative frequency table is prepared as under :

The points (10,6), (20,16), (30,31), (40,51), (50,66) and (60,75) are plotted on a graph paper and joined them by a free hand smooth curve. The point (10,6) is joined with the point (0,0).

Solution :- At first the more than cumulative frequency table is prepared as under :

The points (10,75), (20,69), (30, 59), (40, 44), (50, 24) and (60, 9) are plotted on a graph paper and joined them by a free hand smooth curve. The point (60, 9) is joined with the point (70, 0).
